According to the U.S.
Bureau of Labor Statistics, due to an aging generation of
skilled professionals, more than a third of all plumbers
(167K) will be exiting the workforce by 2016. Multiple
factors are expected to lead to this situation, including
the low interest of high school students in having a career
in a skilled trade, despite great future potential. The
shortage of skilled professionals will arise at a crucial
time where demand is expected to grow by 10 percent,
primarily driven by construction growth.
"Young adults have a lot to consider when choosing a career
path, such as employable careers that can withstand varying
economic trends. Plumbing is a fulfilling career that allows
one to combine knowledge and innovation with the ability to
create and build with your hands," said Carey. "Plumbing
professionals will always be in demand and it's an
important, indispensible profession."
The BrassCraft plumber's tool bag is available to anyone
