As Lead Free Becomes Law,

Matco-Norca announces certified lead free products and help
complying with new Reduction of Lead in Drinking Water Act that
took effect January 4.
 As
of January 4, 2014, the federal government has mandated that all pipes, pipe
fittings, plumbing fittings and fixtures shall not have more than 0.25% lead
with respect to the wetted surface area of products used in potable water
applications. As a leading supplier of valves and fittings, Matco-Norca offers a

Reduction of Lead in Drinking Water Act (Federally mandated Public Law 111-380).
The enactment of the Reduction of Lead in Drinking Water Act has three key
implications. First, it is now illegal to install non-compliant products in
potable water systems, while it is the responsibility of state and local
governments to enforce the new regulations through applicable local plumbing
codes. Lastly, penalties for non-compliance could range from the forced removal
