RectorSeal® Introduces the Rooftop Pipe Support (RPS) for
Professional Roof Installations.
Rooftop
Pipe Support (RPS), a sturdy, easy-to-install system for
presenting an organized, aesthetic alternative to wood
blocks and other unprofessional jerry-rigged methods. The
RPS is designed for mounting HVAC/R, electrical, plumbing
and condensate piping, or ductwork, walkway grates and solar
panels on commercial flat rooftops without roof penetration.
The RPS is a .15-inch-thick
(3.8-mm) ultraviolet light-stabilized, weather-resistant
copolymer shell with a high density foam core that provides
insulation, vibration isolation and roof membrane
protection. The 7.5 (W) x 8 (L) x 5-inch (H) (19 x 20 x
12-cm) RPS weighs only .78-lb (354-grams), but can withstand
load capacities of up to 250-lbs or 350-lbs each when used
with universal strut channel. The RPS is the industry’s only
rooftop support system that has five numbered slots to keep
two-inch and smaller pipe aligned and organized during
installation, although it can accommodate larger pipe
diameters.
Each RPS unit
includes a 3/4-inch (W) x 9-inch (L) (2 x 22-cm) galvanized
perforated strap that secures up to one two-inch-diameter
pipe. Multiple pipe runs are limited to only roof space,
because each RPS can be interlocked laterally with the
shell’s molded tabs that easily snap into a neighboring RPS’
receiver tab.

Noritz Unveils External Recirculation Pump to Extend
Water-Saving Benefits of HWR to Multiple Residential Models.
Noritz
America has introduced the new RPK-EXT External Pump Kit, giving
homeowners the time-, water- and energy-saving benefits of hot-water
recirculation on an even broader array of residential tankless water
heaters. Previously available only as a fully integrated circulator
in the NRCP line of condensing tankless water heaters, the new RPK-EXT
Kit can now serve as a separate, add-on component to 26 additional
Noritz residential models.
The RPK-EXT delivers hot water to a faucet, shower or appliance in
seconds, eliminating the usual water- and energy-wasting wait. Using
a sensor to monitor the hot-water line, the circulator automatically
shuts off once the preset temperature is reached. Using a dedicated
return line, the RPK-EXT also sends water that has been sitting in
the hot-water line back to the tankless water heater for reheating
and recirculation.
“Continuous-recirculation systems
provide instant hot water, and water waste is dramatically reduced,”
explains Noritz Vice President of Sales and Marketing Jason Fleming.
“The problem is, the energy penalty for continuous operation is so
great.”
The new RPK-EXT eliminates the wait for hot water, according to
Fleming, but doesn’t stop there. “The timer assures that water will
be heated only when needed, minimizing power consumption and cutting
energy costs.

Oatey Announces the Launch of Quiet Pipes Water Hammer
Arrestors
Oatey Co. (Oatey) announces the launch
of Quiet Pipes® Water Hammer Arrestors, servicing a full range of
commercial and residential applications. Quiet Pipes is designed to
help solve current and potential water hammer problems by absorbing
the water shock in a plumbing system when a valve is closed
abruptly.
Water hammer is the persistent clanking, banging and pounding in
pipes behind the wall that frequently happens in residential and
commercial buildings. Water hammer can occur when flushing a toilet,
turning on or off a water valve or even with the changing of cycles
in a washing machine. The waves caused by the change in water flow
create a noise within the piping system. Left untreated, water
hammer can harm different parts of the plumbing system including
pipe supports, faucets, valves and even water heaters.
Oatey’s Quiet Pipes includes a
polypropylene piston design with two NBR O-rings within the chamber
to help absorb the water shock in the system. With Quiet Pipes when
a valve on a water line is closed abruptly, the water moves into the
pressurized chamber and the shock is absorbed. Once the water flow
comes out of the chamber, it is dissipated to the rest of the water
line preventing clanking or banging.
Quiet Pipes offer a wide range of connection types and is compliant
with commercial and residential code requirements. They provide
solutions for many applications including multi-fixtures in
hospitals, multi-family and hospitality, to single fixture in
single-family dwellings. Quiet Pipes Water Hammer Arrestors are
listed and approved for installation with no access panel required
and carry a limited warranty.

New Chicago Faucets Low-Flow Electronic Faucets Brochure
Highlights Options to meet LEED v4.
The
brochure, Low-Flow Electronic Faucets for LEED® v4,
discusses the new LEED v4 requirements and the corresponding
Public Lavatory (Restroom) Faucet baseline levels.
Specifications for Chicago Faucets products that comply with
the criteria are given as possible solutions, such as the EQ
Series, E-Tronic® 40 and HyTronic® Series faucets that
deliver up to 30% reduction in water usage.
LEED v4, the newest version of the LEED
certification requirements, provides guidance and standards
for green buildings across nine categories. The Water

TOTO Engineers the Plumbing Industry's First WaterSense
Labeled High-Efficiency Commercial Flushometer Toilets.
Company's 1.28 gpf EcoPower Flush Valves and Commercial Flushometer
Toilets are System-Engineered to Provide Maximum Performance and
Water Savings.
TOTO's handsome chrome EcoPower flush valves (also available
as concealed units) generate their own power each time water spins a
small internal turbine when the unit is flushed. Stored in a series
of capacitors, this auto-generated electrical energy powers the
flush valves' sensor eye, microprocessor, and solenoid. There is no
need to hard wire them to a building's electrical system (which
significantly increases installation cost) or for routine disposable
battery replacement (an ongoing maintenance expense harmful to the
environment).
TOTO has enhanced its EcoPower flush valves with
technological innovations that dramatically improve their hydropower
technology's effectiveness. The redesigned EcoPower flush valve is
easier to install and its platform eliminates the need for daily use
to power the flush valves' operation.
Since its introduction, the
EPA's WaterSense program has helped Americans save more than 1.1
trillion gallons of water and over $21.7
billion in water and energy bills. To identify
high-efficiency products for your next project, please visit
WaterSense's product search page.

Taco's SmartPlug™ Improves Performance of Standard Hot Water
Recirculation.
Taco's
new SmartPlug™ will optimize hot water system efficiency and
reduce electrical consumption up to 94% while saving 12,000
gallons of water per year.
The device adds intelligence to standard on/off hot water
recirculation (HWR) pumps. Rather than plugging the standard
HWR into the wall, plug it into the SmartPlug for improved,
house/family-specific function.
In the "Smart" mode, the SmartPlug monitors and records
weekly household hot water use patterns and adjusts HWR
cycles accordingly. That way, hot water is provided quickly
at all fixtures, only when needed.
The device offers an optional "Pulse" mode.
In this setting, the circulator will cycle on and off to
maintain hot water at all fixtures. No more waiting, no more
wasting energy and water.
Users get even greater efficiency with the SmartPlug system.
After 36 hours of inactivity, the device automatically turns
off the pump until a need for hot water is detected; in this

DewStop
Transforms Any Bathroom Exhaust Fan into a Smart Fan.
Automatic Fan Switch Reduces Energy Usage While Protecting
Against Mold and Moisture.
DewStop is a new, innovative
fan switch that monitors humidity and dew point levels in a
room and automatically switches the exhaust fan on or off to
adjust for condensation in order to help minimize damage to
walls and household goods, as well as lessen or stop the
growth of mold. Without proper ventilation, condensation
produced from taking a shower can ultimately lead to mold
growth. It is common practice for many of us to leave the
exhaust fan running while taking a shower or even for long
periods of time afterwards but in the long run, doing so
will generate higher energy usage and higher electricity
bills. DewStop solves both of these problems by
automatically regulating the fan for decreased humidity and
moisture.
DewStop’s patent pending Condensation Sentry™
is triggered when steam in the room becomes too heavy for
the air to support and the moisture then accumulates on
surfaces such as walls, mirrors and fixtures (this is the
dew point). It will then automatically turn the fan on and
keep it on for 30 minutes or until the condensation is no
longer a problem and the room is dry. For more information

BrassCraft Mfg. Expands Its Push Connect Technology Line.
BrassCraft Manufacturing, a
leading manufacturer of premium quality plumbing supplies
for over 65 years, has once again pushed the boundaries of
innovation by adding two new water stops to its fast,
reliable and durable push connect technology family of
products.
Complementing its original push connect water stop,
BrassCraft Manufacturing is expanding its push connect
technology line to include a newly designed more compact
push connect stop. Also available this August, push connect
x push connect, a versatile, convenient water stop featuring
push connect technology not only on the inlet side of the
stop but on the outlet side as well. This allows ease of
installation for the tubing on the inlet side and the water
connector on the outlet side.
All three watertight options are
designed, machined and assembled in the USA, available in both
straight and angle configurations, and in compliance with the new
federal no-lead legislation effective January 4, 2014. The advantage
of the push connect technology is that no tools are required for
installation and can be installed on three types of tubing. The
result is an “installation ready” water stop that’s compatible with
copper, PEX and CPVC, 100% leak tested and IAPMO and CSA certified.
An enhanced benefit of BrassCraft® technology is the pre-inserted
tube stiffener that self-aligns with the tubing.
Saniflo Unveils ‘Quiet Range’ Saniplus Macerator With Higher Performance, Quieter Operation.
The redesigned
SANIPLUS – part of the new “Quiet Range” lineup of
macerating systems from SFA Saniflo offers faster cutting action
and a quieter performance that is nearly 10 decibels less than the
previous generation. The noise levels of older SANIPLUS units are
comparable to that of a conventional gravity-flush toilet, notes
Saniflo CEO Regis Saragosti. Nonetheless, the recent introduction
of the new, quieter SANIPLUS is in response to user requests to
lower the volume a bit. Like
its predecessor, the new and quieter SANIPLUS uses above-floor
plumbing technology to handle waste not only from a
rear-discharge-type toilet, but also from a sink and a tub/shower.
This permits the creation of a complete bathroom atop any finished
floor where there is no under-floor drainage. Walls and floors
remain intact, and installation is accomplished quickly and
economically with minimal disturbance to room layout. A complete
bathroom can be operational in as little time as a half-day. For
more information, contact Saniflo at 1-800-571-8191. Or visit www.saniflo.com.
